Re: [WM6.1/WM5] O2 Xda Flame ROM - MK4 Series 20931 & WM5 UPDATE [NEW]

@EFN

Is it a must to install these cabs?
1. O2Connect.cab
2. O2AutoInst.CAB
3. CellBroadcast.CAB

I do not install (neither from Ext Rom nor manual) them in any of the ROMs I used.

If you wish, you can edit the Cablist.txt. But then you will need to update the Checksum.txt as well. The three cabs are not mandatory, I kept them there just to reflect the official rom smile

Re: [WM6.1/WM5] O2 Xda Flame ROM - MK4 Series 20931 & WM5 UPDATE [NEW]

@EFN

How does the Checksum.txt works?

My original R122 ExtRom does not have this file at all. I not only remove cabs I do not like, I have also removed all the network stuff that is not related to Sg's Network Service provider. Of course I change the Cablist.txt. It does not have meimeilist.txt too.

The R2A32 which I download from somewhere, I am not sure if the original download has it, but I have not been using this Checksum.txt.

Can I also include some of the cabs which I used to put in ExtRom other than MMS.cab?

By the way, I ever install MMS.cab manually before and it works, not sure what is the problem you faced here.

Anyway, I will just try all combinations out myself.

Still waiting for your non vanilla version. big_smile

I have done tons of testing and found out that the Jataayu MMS only install properly through the ExtROM auto Cabinstall. I never had been successful installing MMS manually.

Oh sorry, you dont need to edit the Checksum.txt because it is only meant for recording if there's a change in cabs size etc. So just editing the Cablist.txt is enuff

As I already mentioned above, Video Call is not included in this rom because I am still figuring out how to modify the Video Telephony component

Re: [WM6.1/WM5] O2 Xda Flame ROM - MK4 Series 20931 & WM5 UPDATE [NEW]

Thx for this rom
but can i ask why is the rom cook with o2 apps? as default its better to keep it clean in case of any incompatibility issue.
since the extrom is large giving us optional choice to install or not for some user that dun need them will be better.
hope on your next build can have a clean version instead

Because this is an O2 Device smile. Yes I will cook another clean Vanilla version. But the MMS will still need to be installed using the automated CabInstall because it will not work with manual install.

As I already mentioned on the first page, ActiveSync USB may be a problem. This is just a first beta.

hehe ya, i mean you dun have to cook them in the rom as extrom have all the neccessary o2 apps that will be install on initial bootup unless edited.
this is the best part of flame, only flame can provide a fully customized experience by user. just a good stable clean rom will be great for all. i guess most of the user will agree on this

while i have already provided a edited version of o2 auto install with more optional apps to be install

either the worcell 3800 or mugen 3800 is going to give you twice to three time the battery life as the stock 1650
