Hi my
ext ROM Version is:- WWE_RM_070622
Rom Version is :- WWE_RC1070309

This is sooo painful.
The update they are referring to is the aussieupdate  AUupdate_20070730.cab on seeo2.com.. the only ROM upgrade they do.
Not sure why they could not say that.
I installed that weeks ago (not that they tell you on the website it is supposed to change your rom version) or what to, anyhow it did not change my ROM to WWE_RM_070516.

Can anyone verify if this worked for you and changed your rom.

It is a cab file and installed easily enough I then did a reset and no change (on the phone or to the rom).
Is O2 missing something (in this specific case I mean)

This is not the rom, but the extended rom.
This is the original extended Rom I have had with my Flame.
And inside the extended rom you will find the original rom and boot files.
I have to upload it again because the first upload was not good.
Obviously you will use them at your own risk.

I keep getting amazed how bad the support is at O2 (despite how friendly they are).
Just to make this even more silly.
The rom they told me I needed is no longer on their web site they eventually sent me to.
Judging by the threads in this forum, this is a ROM that they took the link down to.
One thing for us not to know, but they didn't know either (another 5 days wasted).

Read all the explanations before starting to do something. If you are not sure to understand everything ask questions and I will upgrade the tutorial.
The first big steps, preparation, is not dangerous.
The second one and the following one are dangerous because you start to change your extended rom. So you are responsible of what you do.

Upgrade Extended Rom

Preparation:
1/ Unzip my extended rom in your sd card, for instance in a folder named :
Thierryb Extended Rom
2/ Create a directory on your sd card to receive later your extended rom:
My Extended Rom
3/ Install Total Commander for Windows Mobile

Backup your extended rom:
1/ Launch Total Commander

2/ Open your extended rom folder by writing its name "\klldsnhdmdhalkxk\" in text box like In the screenshot.

3/ Select all the files of this directory by using menu Show>Select/Unselect

4/ Just click on select

5/ All files and directories are selected. Then select on the menu File>Copy/Move, then select your folder My Extended Rom using Tree button, then click on Move


Implement Thierryb extended rom
Using the same steps Copy Thierryb extended rom you have in your sd card in the \klldsnhdmdhalkxk\ directory


Activate your new extended rom
You have two methods to activate it, one very clean starting by a hard reset, the other by installing the extended rom over the present situation of your system. I can not fist them, because I have not your device. But both should work.
Do a full backup of your Flame, so you could go back if something goes wrong.

A/ Hard reset method :
1/ Do a hard reset.
2/ After the hard reset, Flame will install automatically your extended rom.
3/ Then restore your data only and not everything because if you restore everything you will overwrite your upgrade.

B/ InstallCab method :
Using Total Commander go to the Windows directory and launch InstallCab

If somebody can zip and upload the WWE_RM_0704021. It could help everybody to revert in case of problem, and it will be easier to compare them.

I will have also to compare my extended rom with a new one found on pda.ru with arabic capabilities.

I have started to compare them.  But the most important thing that I have found is that my diskimage.nb0 is different from the one present in the ARA version.

In addition, we have lot of things for Arabic people.

And some cabs where upgraded too.
And some operators files where also upgraded.

I have to terminate this comparison.

More than 20 people have already downloaded it, so try it on a pc with internet explorer. Perhaps this the problem.
