ohk!! m sorry for dat...i thougt that there may not b any thing new in my answer...
actually i ordered a battery on ebay of 3150 mhz...it is of some 'cameron sino'' company
yesterday i placed it in my flame and it was not operating on fist time...
i thought of lack of charge...i charged it with ac adapter....
surprisingly life of my flame got more than doubled..
bt problem came wn i got to see that it can not power on the flame on its own...it needed ac adaptr even if there is sufficient charge in it...more over slight shaking of the phone unit led to deadness of phone...then again vicious cycle of ac adapter powering on...
bt after several attempts to find out solution...a good thing happened....
on the upper region of battery placement space , about few mm below the flash of camera...there is tiny metallic plate which seems to touch the battery undersurface...u need to cover it with some tape or thing sheet etc....so that it may not come in direct contact of battery......
now u can power your device with your extended battery...
now i think my money is nt wasted ...whole night i cudnt sleep just because of this thought.... but finally got gud stuff for awsum amount of just 23$. ![]()

I just ordered the Mugen 3800mAh battery and back cover.
How long do they take to ship and, how long did it take to receive?
I get the feeling my device will be obsolete by the time I get the battery lolYes, I have same question? Do these take long to ship? I have received the invoice from their web site but until now (5 days later no shipping # and they are not answering my email enquiry?
To answer my own question for benefit of others, my Mugen shipped to Thailand within about 10 days. They were a bit slow on the email notice, but finally answered after about 6 days when the shipment was already on way. So far it's been a good buy, if not somewhat pricey?

I have bought a new 3150mAh battery from Xell. The battery typed made in Hong Kong. The appearance of the battery is nice but the cover design is not so handsome as the mugen battery. (Angular like a box adorn on the cover) But the quality looks good and good fit to the flame body. It mentions has short circuit protection and have 1 year guarantee.
The most attractive is the price. It is just USD$24.2 including worldwide delivery.
web page: http://www.xell.hk/e/default_home.asp, search Category:Xell Battery>PDA>O2, the code CS-XP08HL, the new cover inclusive.

Did you try compare life of this battery with original 1620mAh battery?
Offline
I think the life of new one is nearly doubled up. The original battery consumed halve up to the evening and the new one around 70% left under the same usage condition.
I would like to emphasize the appearance of the battery is nice, not like the ones Made in China.

Hi mcc, i bought the same battery as you did.
Do you have the problem where on the 2nd day when flame still shows about 46% and it starts to power off??
Currently now i faced this problem....on about 46% my flame starts to shutdown and needs to charge.
Please share your experience with this battery...
overall is about 28hrs of general usage.

I also bought this CS 3150mAh battery (cheap & bulky but seems of good quality)..
I face this issue: at about 60-70% of battery, the Flame can power off suddenly..
Wifi & Phone do not turn on and then after it powers off, it sometimes turns on again
only to realize the battery went down to 6% and needs recharging !!
anyone tried this trick posted by rvin42 ?
on the upper region of battery placement space , about few mm below the flash of camera...there is tiny metallic plate which seems to touch the battery undersurface...u need to cover it with some tape or thing sheet etc....so that it may not come in direct contact of battery......
I will charge again for third time, and if the same happens, I'll try this trick..

My battery is still functioning properly without power off when down to 56%, but I will always recharge it again when I go back home.
I will try to leave it not charging for a longer time and see anything abnormal.
Offline
I haven't charged the new 3150 battery for more than 24 hours, the battery life now remains 25% with Wi-Fi on or GPRS and web browsing. There is no problem of shutdown suddenly. It is still stable.
I don't feel any abnormality of this battery comparing with the original 1620 one.![]()

I tried the battery today and the same senerio happen as xeirwn. I guess is the manufacturing efficiency.. Look like my battery only able to last 28hrs and minimum usage. if with some phone calls and texting maybe only last 20hours.

Hi, I haven't been visiting the site much lately (too busy with life, hurricane Ike, selling a house and moving, changing jobs, etc.)
I just bought the Mugen 3800 mAh battery, and it does not charge. The LED on the Flame does not stay lit during charging. It blinks orange for a moment when you first plug in the charge cable, but then it stays off. The battery never seems to charge.
When you try to turn on the Flame, it starts with the O2 Welcome screen, and then abruptly shuts off, sometimes flashing white before shutting down. The "Battery Too Low" screen never appears.
Replacing it with the original Flame battery, makes it charge and power up properly again.
So I will probably have to return it to Mugen as a defective battery.
My regular Flame battery has gotten lower and lower in capacity for the past month. It seems to be on its last legs. It "fully" charges in less than 30 minutes (which can't really be fully charged), and it dies out in less than 1 hour of PDA usage, 10 minutes of talk time. It does not get any better even if I leave it charging for 24 hours. The processor which controls charging seems to have gotten out of sync with the battery's true charge condition. Discharging and recharging it does not seem to improve it.
As for cases, my Boxwave leather Flame case will stretch to accommodate the Mugen 3800 mAh batttery.

Well, after the third charge, my 3150mah battery worked for more than 1.5 full day.. (all night on with phone standby) and quite heavy usage (videos, mp3, gaming and some calls) -which is not bad!!
The battery meter decreased quite normally this time..
I powered off the phone at 6% and right now I'm charging it again for the fourth time!
The only problem I faced yesterday is that twice the Flame powered off: (battery was below 20%)
Once while trying to make a call and another at today screen standby..
Before this second power off, I noticed that the screen somehow blinked as if the power went on/off immediately
So perhaps it is a case of bad contact of this new battery!
But I will check again and confirm this in the next days...

Today, after the 7th charge, I face the same symptoms!!
I even tried using different chargers but no improvement...
Now, I can say that it is a faulty battery afterall.
I am contacting the seller to replace it...

guys think my flame battery is done with.
I got a couple of questions..
1. is there a possibility of higher capacity battery without making this phone anymore fat..
2. which battery should i buy (some links will be helpful)..

I bought a el cheapo battery (2800mAh) off eBay for long plane trips. The original intention was - for long trips - to take it out of my Krussel case, change the battery to the larger one, put it in a silicone cover (to give it some protection) and then transfer back to the standard battery after I arrived. I have done this a few times and it has served its purpose well.
However after one long plane trip I stupidly took the back cover off the Flame to remove the big battery but then - with the big battery still installed - proceeded to start pushing it into the Krussel case (I blame it on the lack of sleep at the time). It was at this point I realised that the flame with the big battery but without its backplate on *just* fits into the case. I actually have been using it like this for two months - the extra weight and bulk are not really that noticeable to me . I was a bit worried about damaging the camera lens but there is heaps of room in the case as a buffer (and I do not use the camera anyway).
I can post pictures if someone is interested.

I saw a couple of 2000mah batteries.. are they slim enough to fit the original case..??
Offline
the 2000mah are nice batteries and offer a bit more life than original 1650mah battery. i have one them in my flame and am running cotulla's 002 6.1 rom and works good for me. i also am not using my flame as a phone, only pda funtions. bought a new palm treo pro for day to day phone usage. hope that helps.

I have 2000mah batteries . It seems that is the maximun capacity possible with the original cover. So I always have a fresh battery on my car (or bag) to replace the Flame's one if necessary. And it works for me !. By the way, I've found that with the nikhil's Rom the Power drain is lower than original MWG/O2.

good.. i will buy a 2000mah then.. any recommended web shopping links or brands.. thnx

I'm curious too,
after 15 months of extreme usage, my battery levels are getting kind of stinky (as in: recharge EVERY evening, if I get lucky, if not: in the afternoon)

I just wanted you to know that after I sent back the battery, my payment has been refunded by the seller (well apart from returning postage)..
Anyway thanks to him for good service!
