SONY ERICSSON EXPERIA X1 < they call 'ex one' >
some spec:500mhz,400mb,microSD,hsdpa,hsupa-->I don't know what its?,a-gps,wifi,bluetooth,keyboard with new idea of sliding ..!! 800x480 pix resolution, camera 3,2Mp.with flash....and etc,u must see it/
comments plese...
Offline
the experia X1 is the one I was commenting on above --- Sony is skimping big time with just 3" screen, 256 ROM, and 128 RAM??????? A step backward, if you ask me! HSDPA and HSUPA (the 3.6 MB down and upload speeds) are only useful if you are made of money (so that you can get an unlimited plan) and won't work in most countries yet, anyway. The experia is not bad, but can't hold a candle to our flame.
Offline
oh, it can hold a candle, but I'd rather use the Flame's lantern ![]()

i saw in some site on preorder the experia X1 for $900+usd a bit to much??? compare to htc x7501 $819.00usd <--big brik 5inch screen 8gb drive. better yet the htc x7501 has all the fetures one wish for the flame II exept the 5 inch screen??
Offline
Hmm nobody mentioned the 800x480 wide VGA. 3" with WVGA should mega clear.
Btw it is really new to me, how is the 800x480 support? Are there a lot of software supporting it?
There are mentioned of Flame 2, will there really be one?
Offline
Flame 2 has been cancelled. 800x400 sounds great, but 1.haven't heard of any software supporting it 2.You would need a 4" screen for that resolution to make sense, not a 3". And $900? Can almost get 2 flames for that! The 7501 has great specs, the question is: how big is too big? For me the answer is that it must be small enough to fit in my jeans' front pocket. The 7501 definitely doesn't fit that bill, but may be ok for some. Some advice though, the 7501 does not have vibration mode and the 8GB is a hard disk, not flash ROM. When you are using a device this big, you are almost into UMPS territory. Nokia and Apple give 16GB and 32GB flash ROM, why are the Windows Mobile device manufacturers stuck at 256MB???? It really sucks!

The screen is too small.

I agree.
As soon is there is no 3.5 inch pda/phones left to buy......I will get out of buying WM devices completely, and revert to a $50 mobile phone for basic phone function.
For me,I am only interested in Flame,XDA II size devices with 3.5' or bigger screens and not the ones that open up like a notebook or have silly keyboards that are still too small to type with.
It has me baffled why 2.7 or 2.8" screened devices like the Atom, are soo popular, sure they're smaller, but they're not that much smaller, and if you are going to carry
around a brick, you might as well have a screen that you can actually interact with.
I like the iPhone physical design and capacity, but not whats installed on it or the fact you have to type with your fingers, plus its not open source.
I very much hope the Flame is not my last such toy.
Offline
well guys, feast your eyes on this http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/The-MWC … p_15.html. A phone with a 4.5" screen that is as small as 2" screen device. The ideal design in my book. Unfortunately black and white only, for now. But wait a year or two and save your money. Don't blow it on the Experia in the mean time.

A different page appears at that link now. Try http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/01/2 … -launched/

Next year they will be coming out with phones with built-in projectors! Then you can have a really big screen. Sounds great, just hope that battery technology finally catches up.

HP took an opportunity at CTIA to announce the world's thinnest Windows Mobile device. Using a 4.1" VGA OLED display and a lithium-polymer battery, HP has packed a Windows Mobile Classic device into a credit card-sized package.

i think, if we can add some feature in the htc touch cruise (how amazing touch and with scrool keypad cool!!!) or htc tytn ii (with new sliding keyboard) or sony ericsson xperia x1 (with big resolution)..
1. pressing power button will shut down the device..any device have this?
2. shutdown and welcome animation.. any device have this?
3. pressing the circle button in today screen, will launch like shortcut with animation.. any device have this?
can we make them to another device?with add some software from flame..

great specs --- but how can we call that giant monster a phone?? Will you strap it to your belly? And I have read that it will cost about 1500 USD, more than a laptop! Give me those specs on a phone with a flame size screen! Besides, in standard HTC fashion they still give you the same old processor? HTC has banned innovation from its line up. I think the sweet spot between device size and screen size for the current technology (until the rollable color screens arrive) is 4". HTC had one planned, the Omni, but apparently canceled it. 4" will still fit in a jeans front pocket. That's the gold standard for maximum size for me. Face it, we are stuck with the flame, since nobody cares about us. So it is good we are improving the flame here.

Add VGA to this and you have winner: http://www.theunwired.net/?item=unveile … bile-phone

the just announced HTC Diamond seems cool, 4GB of memory, 192 RAM. VGA screen (only 2.8 unfortunately). Great interface. Not quite there yet, but at least they are finally moving in the right direction. Obviously a reaction to iPhone 2.

yep, it's still missing a bigger screen, a microsd slot and a vga-out, but it looks fine (seems it finally comes with video drivers !)

Good question. It's a scary thought!

No microSD slot? Lol, have to read the specs more carefully. Battery is very weak, too. Well, I will not use it to replace the Flame, anyway. But at least HTC has brought out something that seems like a step forward in design. We love the big screens, but the general public doesn't unfortunately. Anything over 3" doesn't sell well. Too bad for us, but they have to make money, too.
