Please help, 2 days ago, I found my Flame unable to make nor receive calls. Every time I tried to place a call, it would display "failed" and when I tried to go into phone settings, it displayed "A wireless radio must be attached to use the phone". When I checked the Device Information, the GSM Version is missing, with IMEI shown as "" (squares). I've tried updating the OS / ROM, but both did not resolve the issue. Is there any way to specifically repair the GSM radio?

Does this followed with hard reset which pre copied extended rom cabs?

check your language and regional setting. that may sove the problem may be.

This happened to me once, when I was using RUU (ROM Update Utility) for flashing my new ROM.
However, soft-reset helped.

Try reflashing Your ROM and it should help.

oo tht happ to me as well.. i jus took my battery n sim out for 5 mins.. put it back n it workied.. jus chk if the sim is in the right way..

It happened to my wife's flame twice.
Last time, it took more than 5 soft-resets before the gsm part came back to life.
Once the phone also locked up at the end of a call.
This GSM issue is very annoying

have tried soft reboot + hard reboot also have flashed the rom twice however still the gsm radio is missing and the phone is always in 'flight mode'. Does anyone have a radio rom or can provide a backed up radio rom from his/her flame?

As I know we can't upgrade the GSM ROM yet. This is the only ROM part what we can't update(if I'm right). Maybe those russian guys from 4pda.ru could help about this. We're waiting for a tool or method.

did u run that exe. file (official rom update from o2) that should re-flash your flame to that whatever version it is.i had lost extended rom etc once and ran that official rom updater and it brought my flame back to normal and it had everything in it.

Beside minor patches from O2, there is no official ROM updates from O2.

Some lucky guys get the newer WM5 ROM when they went to the service centre for servicing or buying newer flames.

ROMs and update tools you read here are all make by fellow users here.

Today, after changing the battery, my Flame showed the message "A wireless radio must be attached to use the phone"
There has served neither the "hard reset" or "soft reset"
Only has operated a "soft reset" maintaining the power button.
He restarted the GSM module perfectly but the date has moved to January 1, 2000.
I changed the date, I have restored a backup and everything works perfectly.

No, I was in the country and tried things that I think to get it work.
