Re: *IMPORTANT*Please provide more information to me about your Flame

Battery: P/N: 30600320000053; S/N: 718FS10212

Bluetooth power management is bad, plain and simple. When the device goes into suspend mode, the Bluetooth radio is turned off (this behavior is documented in the user manual). So if your Flame was connected to your car handsfree, when it goes into suspend it disconnects from it and you no longer can place calls using the handsfree. You have to pick it up, turn it on, and expect that reconnects automatically, which not always happens. Not very well tought! sad Every other PocketPC Phone on the market keeps the Bluetooth connection active even with the device in suspend mode, so you can still place calls using handsfree; that's the whole poit of the handsfree.

Just to make it clear, this issue is by (bad) design, not some software incompatibility, or some problem with my particular handsfree. Evey Flame will run into this problem in this scenario. In crontrast with this, the performance of WiFi is exceptional, years ahead of every other PDA in the market.

ROM: WWE_RC1070309
Bootloader version: V2.2C601
GSM Version: P6A2
extROM Version: WWE_RM_070516
RIL Version: v08.60

igalan, are you implying it's a hardware defect that can't be fixed through software/firmware? If so, that's sad.

No, it's just the Bluetooth driver that needs to be modified. Most hardware has several power modes going from fully active to powered off, you just have to make modify the driver so when the PDA is in suspend mode, the driver sets a lower power mode instead of completely disabling the hardware. That is unless Arima made some very bad decissions when building the Flame.

I have reported this problem, O2 confirmed that they are testing it and this will be the most important bug that will be fixed in the next release.

Re: *IMPORTANT*Please provide more information to me about your Flame

why they do not  agree about all the bugs:
- freeze and need a reset if flame was sleeped with wifi
- screen is not lighten after a call longer than the automatic backlight turn off delay
- a lot of 2gb microsd are not recognized after a long sleep or a soft reset, but recognized after a short sleep
- duplication and duplication of entries in the notification database.

And they have to work more hardly in two directions:
- wm06 implementation
- system tweaking to improve battery life

And last but not least:
- add an option in bluetooth settings, let the bluetooth radio on when sleeping

If they give this list to their engineers, sure we will have a better product and they will sale more!

As you know, I have reported all the bugs that we faced, but I cannot sure that how many bugs will fixed at the next ROM.

I know that you can not, but

THEY CAN !!!

O2 and Arima, you are deaf, dumd and blind. That's a pitty because you were enough clever to create the Flame.

Add two goats that obliged them to tell us how to put the flame in bootloader mode.

The objective of collecting all this info is O2 contacted me, they need to have more information to find out the reason of "Battery life is to short".
They need to confirm that is there only a part of batteries are experiencing lower-than-average battery life.

They will contact me in this week again, I will ask them for the lastest information about the updated ROM and show us a approximate date.

My Battery
Model XP-08
P/N 30600320000053 (this I think should be the same for all..)
S/N 729FS02350

with heavy use, it barely lasts for 15 hours...
leaving it standby it can last for 2 days (turned off at night)

any news on this subject?
